I want to better cooling for my hd 7970

Solution
If you are going to remove the stock cooler do it first before you buy a new after market solution if its anything like my MSI the Thermal paste was applied with a shovel. Clean it with Artic cleaner put a good non conductive thermal paste such as Noctua or one of the Artic thermal paste makes (correct amount tiny pea size). Put it all back together and run some benchmarks on it monitoring the temp. I got a 12%c drop on mine form about 65 down to 53. Its worth a try and saved me minimum £30 and took all of 30 minutes.
