Gaming monitor Response time question

Hello everyone,

So, I've just bought a gaming monitor SyncMaster SA950, and while i was taking a quick look through its settings, i came across Response time and it was already set to Faster. Which of the settings is better for gaming? There's Normal, Faster and Fastest. Should I set it to Fastest? Is it safe? I'm sorry im kinda newbie please bear with me. Thanks in advance

You always want your response time on you monitor to be as low as possible. 2ms to 5ms is the normal response times on monitors. But to answer your question, set it to the fastest and you do not have to be worried.

Thanks for your rapid response BigBAWZ.

I'm gonna set to Fastest, gonna check if there's a difference. Also just checked monitor specs and it says Response time: 2ms(GTG). So I guess Fastest means 2ms...eh? Thanks again!

2ms is great! My personal is 5ms, but you won't really notice a difference unless you are looking at them side by side.
