XP Startup black and white flashing screen

More about : startup black white flashing screen

February 3, 2014 3:18:56 PM

I am running a Sony Vaio that has Windows XP Home updated 3.
When I startup I get through the initial screen that shows me Windows XP logo. I can tell it is going to go to this black and white geometric screen if there are green pixels in the "XP". Then the screen is like a fishing billboard of black and white geometric shapes.
When I restart in safe mode the safe mode screen looks like gibberish letters. Knowing the position of Safe Mode when I click through and it runs gibberish code line and when it is really bad it shows " " on the left side and right side. When it pauses the code lines it then takes me to a window that says chose load in safe mode or restore older system load" I have done both. If I load in safe mode it loads, if I choose restore it loads, if I choose to restore it restore an earlier version.
If I choose the safe mode and then close down and reload it sometimes will open in the regular Windows XP. This also happens with the restore to earlier version.
I have run malwarebytes anti-malware and come up with 4 Trojans, cleaned them and still have the same problem. I think it goes deeper. Any suggestions or experiences you might have had...
