Hey,
My original thread is here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1871494/upgrade-fx8350.html
It was really wrong thread but I will explain in short terms.
I have M5A97 R2.0 Asus motherboard, FX8350 and 8GB DDR3 ram. I tried to overclock my CPU but without success. Settings in BIOS are checked and tried like 100 times, pretty much everything so we can rule out that issue. I changed CPU so I literally bought new fx8350 and I couldnt pass 4.2ghz in Prime with stock or even highest safe voltage 1.45.
So I guess we can rule out and CPU now. I'm waiting for company to send my money back or I will be allowed to order new product/s for a price of that fx8350.
Lately I'm getting restarts while I'm watching Twitch (stream) and only then. I reinstalled OS couple times but that keeps happening. That started even before I changed my CPU and it was happening on BOTH, new and my current old fx8350.
Sometimes it's bluescreen with bugcheck 0x00000124 ?
I tried only one stick ram (both separately) but overclocking is still unpossible and I also runned memtest for 12 hours without any issues.
That is leaving PSU and motherboard. Now you will probably say that I should replace my PSU since it's RAIDMAX, I've seen a lot of bad words for Raidmax. But again I do have warranty on my motherboard unfortunately I cant wait 30 days without my motherboard because of job.
If you are in my place without possibility to try different hardware what would you do ?
If I go for motherboard I would get M5A99FX Pro R2.0, not sure should I go for Sabertooth 990FX and throw all my money ? If problem still occurs I will be left without new PSU.
