Hey, everyone. First time poster, long time lurker here. I am posting because I am looking to upgrade the motherboard for my rig but I want to get the most for my money so I figured this would be the best place to ask. The main reason for wanting to upgrade my MoBo is so that I can also upgrade my CPU both now and in the future. Currently I am running an Asrock 970 Extreme4 with an AMD FX-6100. I'm looking at upgrading my MoBo to an Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 but I've heard that MoBo is a waste of money unless I'm looking to SLI/Crossfire. By "waste of money" I mean I've heard that I can get a similar MoBo for much cheaper but isn't as adequate for SLI/Crossfire. Any input here or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
