I bought 8GB (2x4GB) Sticks of DDR3 XMS3 RAM Last year when I was building my computer - the 1600Mhz version.
After looking at various programs and applications such as CPU-Z, Task Manager, Etc. the RAM only appears to be running at 1333Mhz.
I looked at some online guides and found that the XMP Profile must be enabled in the BIOS so I went in, activated it and saved an exited, only to be faced with an infinite amount of bleeps from my motherboard speaker, before activating secondary BIOS and reverting itself.
I know that the extra frequency may not seem like a lot but as a 3D Modeller and Animator (Heavy memory users), It would be nice to get what I paid for and make good use of it.
In case it matters, my main specifications are as follows:
Intel Ivybridge i5 3570 (Non-K) at 3.40Ghz
GIGABYTE Z77X-D3H Motherboard
2x 4GB Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz RAM
