Which is a good place, in home, to build a PC? Does glass carry static electricity?

Hello. I wonder what's a good place, without much static electricity, to build a PC... In home.

I was thinking on a wooden desk with a glass above of it... But I don't know if glass carries static electricity.

  1. Oh, and here some info, if needed:

    Location: Northwest of Spain.

Weather: It's usually raining here. And it's usually cold. Even on summer... Though sometimes it is a bit hot... Randomness.
It's usually (now, in winter) between 3 Celsius to 10 Celsius.
  2. as long as there isnt carpet, you should be fine. If you do, just make sure you touch something metal often, just to be safe with static electricity. I dont believe glass can carry static electricity.
  3. No glass does not. If your feet tread on carpet, touch something metal like the side of your case before using the PC.

Keep it away from microwaves and toaster ovens. Those Cylons can be dangerous.
  4. Thank you both.

Illumynization: Well, microwaves and ovens are in the kitchen, and it won't be in the kitchen so I think that's far enough? Is it?
