ive been out of the loop a while, working/family etc, needed a good game, so picked up skyrim (ive been a fan since morrowind) - love it. brilliant fun!

currently got a gtx 680 2gb under the hood, and its not cutting it ... and I would love 3dvision as well. gaming on 2560x1600

how would you guys upgrade?

is it possible for me to get good enb and good 3d stereo for little £££? or do i have to pick 2 of these 3 choices?

ive got nvidia 3d glasses, so i would prefer to stay with them, and if i can utilise the 680 gtx in SLI or can I relegate it to other duties? (told you im out of the loop a bit - i remember there was talk about using old cards for other things a few years ago)

I really want the best bang for buck upgrade - I dont have £500/$1000 lying around

cheers for any help!

Well the 680 translates into a 770 performance wise, so your card isn't even that dated. You are running a decently high resolution so you need more than 2gb of VRAM if you want peak performance, so SLI isn't a very good solution for you as you would hit a VRAM bottleneck in demanding games, especially if you mod Skyrim. Pretty much you would need to get at minimum a 780 to make it worth while, preferably a 780ti.

im using 2000mb at the most right now, modded to the hilt - i dont mind losing some texture fidelity for 3Dvision & nice shader-type fx.. still another 680 a bad idea? they are cheap as chips used, compared to the 7xxx series

oh, i have a family & new job so im pretty much playing skyrim a few hours here & there - totally not hardcore gaming/playing others

So im in GPU limbo.. too expensive to upgrade to 3/4gb, not much point going SLI... unless i spend as much buying 2x770, might as well go to the 780's as people have said. boo
