I've been reading reviews for different cards and find quite a few referring to problems running GTX 760s with AMD CPUs. Most of these are from Oct-Nov 2013, though some are later. Is this still an issue?
It might be an issue of you're running one of the APUs and don't get rid of or disable the drivers for the integrated graphics, otherwise there is not reason a nvidia GPU and AMD cpu can't get along.

One specifically mentioned a FX4100, the rest didn't, only that they were AMD. They didn't mention chipset either, which was more likely their problem than the CPU?
I think they were doing something wrong when installing the drivers, or just having some software hiccup. There's no reason they would not work together.
