hey.
Basically, I got the new 14.1 AMD drivers. I was excited for the new Mantle API, because there is supposed to be a performance increase!

But...

My game is freezing time after time. When there was a graphic intensive part (helicopter explosion), my game for for almost a minute, maybe 2... I tested with Direct3D 11, and no lag. What's going on, and what should I do to get the full effect of the new beta drivers?

I've got some issues on my 7770 too. It's a beta driver that was a bit rushed, so it makes sense. What is your card?

Realize that Mantle is new and in beta for the most part. Also realize Mantle may have issues with some configurations, being a lower level API, it may have more issues some varying spec's. Give it time.

I got 13.12 had the crashes/ lag spikes so i got beta 14.1 same issue is the some where to get old drivers ? Sorry Demuny I could not find anything to help.

The way Mantle works is that systems that are CPU bound, get the most help. A fast CPU with a slow GPU will have little improvements. Systems with fast GPU's but slow CPU's, show the biggest improvements. That is, fast GPU's for the resolution used.

Thanks for filling me in on how it works what dose it do if you have a i5 4670k and a r9 290x not much or take a little load of CPU

From what I've seen from benchmarks, on single player, i'd expect it to be about 10%-15% boosts, and 15%-25% in multiplayer at 1080p using Ultra settings.

While your system is pretty balanced, there are still a lot of moments where the game is CPU bound, and others that are GPU bound, depending on your resolution and settings.

Thanks for the info on Mantle. I'm glad to know how it functions a little more in depth :)
If anyone has a solution to this annoying issue, please let me know.
