what i basically need is what grpahic card would meet the best for todays new gaming, lets say i want to play bf4 on ultra settings multiplayer and have minimum 60 FPS , what GPU would be best? and not only for that game cuz people will say that R9 with mantle would be best for bf4 but i also want to have taken in consideration of the 770 gtx from nvidia since it seems its kind of its rival anyways im looking to not spend over 400$ and PSU is around 650W i think changing it is a possibility what i really care about is the GPU

I would say 770, hands down. Better temps, price, and performance. If you can spend the extra 100$ a 780 would give you the best price to performance ratio. (I couldn't :S)

I would add if you want to do SLI down the road a 4GB card might be the right decision. By that time games might be pushing 2GB and if you don't have a 4GB you will see massive frame drops. If you're going to be upgrading to another single card though 2GB will be fine.

it depends on the 3rd party manufacture the sapphire toxic version is the best for the 280x witch by the way is stronger than the gtx770 I have it and a I have psu cooler master gtx 650 w +12v 54A and there is not a game that I cannot play it with maximum setting

"stronger" is an exaggeration imo. And if someone is gonna buy a GTX 770 then it won't be a reference card. Like you didn't bought R9 280x reference card.

They're close, with GTX 770 getting the upper hand:

In my country GTX 770 was expensive so that's why i went for the ASUS R9 280x DC2T edition. Otherwise GTX 770 is the obvious choice ultimately.

I don't think so. 1080p gaming, fps in different games.
BF3:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB: 102.23
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB: 89.12

Metro 2033:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 92.50
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 90

Crysis 2:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 83.20
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 81.80

Mafia 2
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 106.70
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 91.20

GTA 4
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 66.89
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 66.67

Batman Arkham City
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 159
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 176

AvP:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 66.70
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 78.90

Starcraft 2:
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 120.06
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 106.30

Dirt3:
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 144.90
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 194.30

Temperature on Load:
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 80ºC
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 69ºC

Power on Load:
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 298W
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 244W

Noise on Load:
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3 GB : 48.80dB
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC Windforce 2 GB : 37.20dB

GTX 770 has the upper hand here. It's a point of view derived from facts not personal opinion or liking. But my personal opinion is that the difference is not that much overall, both are great equal cards nonetheless and a gamer should buy either one depending on which is cheaper in his country.

I say depends country to country. 770 for me. Dont get me wrong I really like amd as the underdog but the current prices are attracious due to the mining.plus the current 280x are having way too many flaws compared to tge 770.

listen i really like nvidia the gpu i had before the 280x was the gts 250 and it was good until i wanted to upgrade and there was the choice for the gtx 770 gigabyte or the sapphire toxic 280x both had the same price in my country and i know the difference in the performance is minor in some games it depend on the games you intend to play and found that the 280x is a 384 bit and 3gb and the gtx 770 is 256 bit and 2gb and the amd promising about the mantle and the increased performance
so i thought that the 280x is more future proof than the gtx 770 but i really like nvidia
