I have been trying to fix it for a couple months now, but I keep getting the same results... FPS Lag. Its not that old and its probably just over entry level. (i5 3rd Gen, 12GB RAM, Nvidia GT620, 400W PSU, Win8, And I don't know the motherboard). Its prebuilt btw (Dell XPS 8700).

the graphics card is very weak and is your problem

the only way to get better fps is to replace it , and the power supply which is also not going to be good enough

Do you have a budget , and what is the resolution of your monitor?

Getting games to run smooth: 1. Tank your resolution to 1024x768 or less 2. lower all graphical settings 3. try overclocking (won't do as much as 1 and 2) 4. if still not happy then the only solution is to upgrade

I don't really know what my budget would be. I am not looking to buy it this month, but if I do, it will probably be in the last week of February. If you can give me a good PSU and Graphics card that fits in well with my setup without spending money on unneeded power. If you can throw a couple of choices at me (between 0-200 bucks) then I could choose that way. My res is 1920 x 1080. Thanks :)

your gpu is slow, decent models starts at x50, like a gt650, the you have a 620 unfortunately. so you should not expect much from it. get a better gpu

If I was spending $200 on a graphic card and power supply it would probably be
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2MYjB

Modular 500 watt power supply + radeon 7850
This will play even heavy duty games well enough at 1080p resolution

Nah that PSU is crap compared to the XFX 550w Core Edition. Also yeah the 7850 is a great choice for $150

Im pleased you have an opinion , but if you are a little short on detail

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-review...

and as a bonus the model I linked is semi modular and will be tidier and easier to fit
