Is the GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H really that bad?

I'm shopping for a motherboard for my friend on Newegg. He said that for aesthetics purposes, the only colors I'm allowed to get for his build are black, blue, and white ( I doubt there are any white motherboards out there, though I could be wrong ). I saw the UD3H and thought it's a really great board because it has SLI compatibility, dual bios, is a good overclocker for both the GPU and CPU, fits the price range of $150-$200, and has a black and blue color scheme. For $160, I thought it couldn't get any better; that is until I read the reviews. A lot of people claim that they have many problems with the board that can be found in the review section:

So I dunno. Should I risk getting this board for him? Are the problems that people are listing really that frequent or just a rare occurrence with some boards? If so, and if someone knows of a board that is black, black/blue, (white???) etc., and has the features similar to this board ( does not have to be the exact same ) and fits the price range, that would be extremely helpful.

Solution
I've owned that Gigabyte mobo since last June and the only glitch/buggy crap I encountered was from shitty CCC drivers
As soon as 13.9 was released all my random BSOD's vanished.
I've read the Egg feedback and a lot of it spoke inexperience and disregard to the manual.
New dual bios is nice and easy to use!
The GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H is really solid,i've built on it too!

I encountered no issues when installing ram on either board.
Kevin C.'s review of the GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H pretty much sums it up!

I chose this motherboard for my first rig, been using it almost 2 months now and its been bulletproof reliable. Both CPU and GPU overclocked almost too easily, updated bios twice... no issues. I'd say go for it.

Z87x-UD3H better than all of the boards mentioned here. Especially the Asus ones. Z87-A, z87-gryphon. Even better than Asus Maximus VI Hero in terms of power design. True 8 phase IR3563B PWM (only msi and gigabyte is using it atm and it offers 2mhz frequency switch which is great for doubling the phases and efficiency, Asus, however, is still using the old revision which is max 1.2mhz), PowerStage mosfets (best in the market), less intense high efficient 60A inductors (only msi and gigabyte could manage to make them that efficient around 0.50u-0.47u ferrite)...

Asus is just falling behind in z87 generation. Asking more money but giving mid-range components. Also ASRock still using that D-pak mosfets in some of their boards like Extreme3 and z87M Extreme4. Extreme 6 is fine but it's using analog PWM and ASRock still making fake marketing that they use digital pwm in that board. It's using Intersil pwm and they are an analog brand. Only digital pwm ASRock is the expensive OC Formula but still Z87x-ud3h better in every way.

But the problem with Gigabyte boards, there are lots of stability issue reports with 4 RAM sticks, even if they come with the same package. Some people don't have that problem at all. But the problem rate here is a lot higher than usual. But probably it will be fixed and the compatibility and stability will be better in time with bios updates.

So if you don't plan to run 4 ram sticks now, just get the Gigabyte z87x-ud3h. It's the best for its price range. If not then get MSI z87-GD65. It's a little less complex in vrm department but still a lot better than non-ROG Asus boards. Also it became one of the most energy efficient z87 boards in the market with last BIOS updates.

Also don't believe people who don't talk with real data and actual information. There are some so-called system builders around that are copy-pasting their pre-generated answers and fake experiences in almost every post and don't even have an idea what they are talking about. Beware those guys.

sorry for the bump, would you reccomend the MSI z87-GD65 over the MSI Z87-G45 ?
what about the Gigabyte Z87X-D3H ?
