Hopefully someone out here can help, I'm having a lot of difficulty trying to recover my data off my ROG 55vw laptop harddrive. Basically the laptop froze and it appeared to be hard drive related, so I bought an external enclosure and tried to plug it into another computer to see if I could pull my data off and replace the harddrive, or send it for an RMA after getting the data.
It plugs in, and initially disk manager sees the partitions - it has an EFI partition, a recovery partition, and then a partition with all my data. Then when I try to get to the drive on My Computer, it freezes. Sometimes it doesn't even appear. Disk Manager also freezes when I try to assign a new letter or get to properties - usually after saying I need a refresh because the info is old, even though it only just updated.
Get Data back freezes when trying to look for the drive ,and Test Disk occasionally sees the drive but then also stops seeing it after a time.
I have about 1TB of data on this drive, but I need to just get word docs and text docs at this point - any help or suggestions would be appreciated. It's really acting up and I'm afraid its starting to look like I have to spend a lot of money for a data recovery specialist or something along those lines.

Edit: I was able to get testdisk to run for a tiny bit to analyze the drive, it then froze while doing so. I got this information in case it helps - see pic! Also, it appears the drive seems to be noticed by test drive only within the first 5 minutes.

Needs to be either software or something that wouldn't need hardware replacing. Any other help or suggestions would be appreciated. At this stage its looking like i'm going to have to pay $500-1500 for the data recovery at one of the specialists.
