Hello there, i have had this processor for over 2 years and i have experienced many problems with it. The temperature reach 40 degrees or more on idle and 65 degrees+ on world of warcraft ( wich is not a big graphic game). I have this problem for a long time and having bad framerates many times in any games, especially battlefield 4 and WoW. I tried to overclock my processor automaticly from my ASUS BIOS, i did not change any voltage or anything, asus did everything itself. And then i checked the temp again, and I decided to run OCCT again once i overclocked and the core reach over 86 degrees++. even tho without my CPU overclocked, it was still getting this temp. I did re-apply thermal past on it and remove the (old one) wich is not old at all because i recently bought a h60 crosair CPU cooler, and i wouldn't be supposed to get these temp with that fan cooler. So i did re-apply thermal paste and nothing really changed.

My computer spec are

i7 3770k intel 3,4GhZ
dual gtx 660 (non-ti) on SLI
MOBO: ASUS p8z77 -X LK
RAM: 8GB kingston
SSD:80GB
HDD:1TB
CPU cooler: h60 crosair
computer case: cooler master HAF
number of fans: 3x 120MM fans, one on the top, one on the left, one on the front

thank you and hope this get fixed !

The pic is not clear, did u have fan configured to pull in the radiator setup or u just go without fans?

edit: try change the orientation of fans so it will be push air toward radiator out of the case ..

check the air that came out from radiator are it warm enough?
if it just warm when the temp rising then it could be broken pump, or not well seated water block...

If the air is warm but keep rising then extra fans maybe needed..
Depending on your room's temps, getting 40 degrees on idle can be normal, and World of Warcraft is a MMO, those require quite a bit of CPU power, so here again, normal temps. A little bit high for the overclocked CPU, but that's still not out of norms. You might have had a bit of bad luck on your chip.

hey there, thanks for the reply. My room temp is REALLY good, i have quite a big room and my window is always open a little. Since i live in canada, it is really cold here. Seladon, 40 degree on idle isnt normal on default clock speed i have been told, and even overclocked i still get high temp. And i think it is my CPU fan that goes high...since my CPU temp is getting really high. I got to 70 degree in WoW, thats not normal at all.

Here is my CPU fan cooler: http://www.corsair.com/en/cpu-cooling-kits/hydro-series-water-cooling-cpu-cooler/hydro-series-h60-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler.html

You should have a fan attached to the radiator. Move the fan on top to be attached to the radiator as an exhaust.

[strike]Also, it looked like there were two fans at the front - is that correct?[/strike]

You should have both RAM sticks in the same coloured slot for dual-channel performance. Read the motherboard manual to find out which.
