Spec is:
CPU: I7-4770K
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i (replaced fans for quieter corsair fans)
Motherboard: Asus Z87 Sabertooth
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1866
Graphics: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 760 2GB
HDD: Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB SSD / 1TB Seagate Barracuda
PSU: Corsair CX750M
DVD: Pioneer Blu Ray Drive
Case: Corsair Air 540
Windows 7 Ultimate with Microsoft Office 2013. Overclocked to 4ghz.
I spent about £1000 - £1100
Couple of notes about the build. I went for the Z87 Sabertooth because I thought it looked awesome and I thought the onboard fans might be handy, turns out fans are really loud so I had to disconnect them but it still looks awesome and is packed with features (anyone elses view on this motherboard welcome). Went for 2 x 8GB modules incase I wanted to expand to 32GB but don't think it is necessary (I used for 3D CAD). I went for the big PSU in case I wanted to double up on the graphics. The case is awesome.
I am also new to custom build computers so any advice or thoughts on my build would be really helpful. If I sell it I will use the money to pay off bills and I plan to build a £400-500 computer next. I know if I sell it will be at a loss but I had a great time building it and coming up with the spec. If I broke it down and sold it as boxed parts would I make more money?
