Hello there!
I wants to change my CPU, i have a i7 2600 and it's not the K version.
I'd like to change because i want it unlocked so i can get it overcloked later.
I only use my dekstop for gaming.
But, will my PC increase any FPS for the change i make, but switching motherboard, and CPU out?
I'm going from a i7 2600 to a i5 4670K
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-GD65.html This is my main motherboard.
I'm going to switch out with this: http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/z87%20extreme6/
Now I'm also thinking will the Chipset change anything, or is it just complete stupid of me?

Hey

I see you searched yourself :)

* It will have better performance, the i5 has no hyperthreading but the 4 virtual cores and 8 MB L3 cache will just beat the older i7 :)
* Most performance you will notice in BF4 ( it needs more cores ) and in future games wich will use more cores aswell.

The board is k, but have you seen MSI z87 - G45 GAMING? It has a lot of fun functions that you can use in gaming :) And the price is better!

By chipset, what do you mean by that?

Update* bad english knowledge ;c

i5 4670K has 1150 socket, you got it on the board that you want

It depends.
Are you intending to re-format? If you are it won't matter.
If you hope to avoid formating, then you will need a motherboard which can use the same chipset drivers as your present one; you can update later.
