I want to build a gaming computer on budget of 500$. I'd like to be able to upgrade it later on down the road since the game I play runescape keeps getting better. Also I like to edit skateboarding videos. Please help I'm new to this lol and all this stuff is confusing.

Hi Topherm,
If this is a ground-up build, then you need to balanced your budget on the motherboard, and CPU, and at least a minimum of 550watt power supply. An AMD FX6300 would be good for both gaming and productivity build and an HD7790 would give you enogh start. Otherwise if you have an existing setup, and you may want to upgrade, you would save some more othose bucks to invest in a more power CPU and GPU. These articls would help you get started.
