So I've recently come to acquire a new graphics card seeing as my computer didn't have one. I bought the ASUS Geforce GTX 760 DirectCU II OC in specific and talked with some of my friends who dabble with computers and said it was good for mine. Now I'm running a Windows 7 HP p-7 1209 and needed more power so I went and got a new power supply, antec 620 watts. Took the old one out, new one in, powered up my tower, everything checked out. Powered down, put in the card, started up normally, or so I thought, then stopped at the hp logo screen, and stayed there about 2-4 minutes with beeps in intervals of about 20-30 seconds, 3 beeps. Then a blank screen with and underscore at the top-right flashing. While this is going on I cannot do anything, hit the f-keys, start up boot menu, nothing is responsive. I don't know what is wrong and I've tried everything that I seem to be able to find to no avail. If anyone could help me out much would be appreciated. I'm not to tech savvy so I don't know exactly what specs I should post that would help resolve my issue. That's all I've to say I guess for now, thanks in advance and have a good day!

Bro I am having the exact same issue but with a gtx 770, with 6gb RAM, windows 7 home premium, a 600 watt psu, and an i7-3770k. If anyone could please help Mizurakai and myself that would be greatly appreciated.

This power supply should be sufficient for your system. If you have another graphic card/ integrated graphics or if you can borrow a card from a friend maybe you should try it and see if your PC will post. It could be a faulty card.

This beeping noise happens with me as well when the card or a memory module are not inserted well in there slots but in that case I don't think the PC even gets to post It just beeps.

Hopefully it's a faulty card and not an incompatibility issue.
On a side note. I'm pretty sure since my computer came with no card, that the video is integrated, and both friends I spoke to about this say that it might be conflicting with the new one I'm trying to install and that I have to uninstall it in the bios menus when it's installing the new one. Would that perhaps be a possibility?

It could be, I am not sure. Try to disable it from the bios if it is possible. If you do indeed have integrated graphics then your PC should be able to post without the card since from what I understood you don't even get past the hp logo so you won't be able to enter bios while the card is installed.

Ty for the help and insight AnEwG, but I figured out my problem. Apparently my bios was out of date and this bios in specific caused problems loading my card and badabing badaboom, it's working. <_> Ty very for your help, and CourtingErmine0, you might want to check into your bios as well and I hope you fix your issue. BUT BE CAREFUL! As I've been told if you install a new bios and it gets interrupted, it may mess up your system. Be careful, and cheers.

Don't hijack people's threads...

Is your monitor plugged into the back of the graphics card?
Have you got the 2 4-pin power connectors attached to the graphics card?
What wattage and brand is your PSU?
