Hello! Trying to get dual monitors working on the MB integrated ports with AMD A10-7850K under Windows 8.1. One on DVI and one on HDMI. The OS and Catalyst CC only show 1 monitor and cannot detect the second. The display is cloned between the two monitors. (Of course this worked fine under Win 7 Ult) Liveupdate said I had a chipset driver update so I had it download it which it did (2hrs for 750MB), but then Liveupdate said it couldn't find the file to apply. Looking at the website, there is a chipset driver available to manually apply (later version than Liveupdate showed). Downloaded that (.5 hr for the same ~750MB). During application with the setup program, both screens clear and process appears to lock up. After a lengthy delay, I rebooted the system and it came back without updated chipset. Catalyst CC does give an error on launch that the display driver needs to be updated to work with Catalyst CC. I don't see ANY stand alone display driver offered. I've opened an issue with MSI on this. Is my hardware a little too bleeding edge? Anyone else had this difficulty?

Thanks Yogi, I'll give that a try. I should have thought about the integrated graphics coming through the APU not from motherboard chipset. Also, I see this timely article on Tom's which references my A10-7850K APU specifically for anyone having this issue: http://

Update: Have now tried Catalyst CC 13.301 and the new 14.1 BETA from AMD. Both installations fail during installation right after is says installing display adapter. By failure: Both monitors go black and the PC appears to be hung. Left it about 20 mins with no activity. Hdw reset re-boots back into Windows, but Catalyst CC is not installed and Driver Manager says the display adapter is MS Basic Display Adapter. I was hopeful for the BETA 14.1 since the release note specifically said it supports the A10 7850K APU. Has anyone else installed the latest Catalyst CC for this APU and Win 8.1?

You're on the "Bleeding Edge". There will be setbacks. Hang in there!

Thanks Yogi. I'm trying to have patience. Unfortunately, it will be limited by the 30 day Newegg RMA policy. If it comes to that, I'll likely pony up for Intel.

Update 2: The MB BIOS was 3.2 and needed a flash to 3.3. The Liveupdate had said the MB was up to date. Should have double checked manually, that's on me. However, after flashing all Catalyst versions die during install with the same problem under Windows 8.1.

I tried Windows 7 Ultimate last evening. Both Catalyst CC 13.301 and the new 14.1 BETA from AMD will install successfully through to the end. Woohoo! However, the required reboot reveals the PC will not come back up with either driver. Damn!

I wonder if you can install drivers in Safe Mode? I don't know.

It may be a setting in your Bois. Also make sure your Bios is up to date as well (latest version being 3.80). I am running 3 monitors right now with only a A6-5400K processor with Radeon HD graphics. 1 connected via HDMI (32" flat screen tv) and 2 matching 20" flat screen desktop monitors, 1 connected via DVI and the other 1 connected via VGA. I have absolutely no issue what so ever. I can play a 1080p movie to the tv, play an online game on one monitor and do whatever else on the other (which is actually what I'm doing now lol). I hope you get it figured out, this is the first time I've ever had dual screen let alone triple screen and it truly is amazing. Especially if your a multitask-er. I'll do some research and see what I can come up with.
