I've got a new build and everything seems to be working fine but I've not been able to boot from a USB device. They don't show up in the UEFI under devices or on the F11 boot menu when it starts up. I've tried several different configs on the USB drive (NTFS vs. Fat32, LiveCD vs. Windows disk, making with RUFUS vs. the HP Boot Tool vs. Windows Recovery) and nothing seems to work.

Here are the rest of the specs: ASRock Extreme 4 Z89, Crucial Ballistic 2x8gb, GTX 295, Samsung SSD, WD 2TB Drive, 750w PSU.

Interesting -- Let me try that! I didn't have any idea that UEFI needed a different boot disk/drive in order to work. Thanks!

Still not being recognized. I tried to make the disk on Windows XP (rufus didn't give me a gpt option, but it did give me a UEFI MBR bootdisk.) It didn't make any difference.... tried it with two different usb drives.

Now I'm headed to a friends to try making the GPT partition and seeing if that works.

edit: back -- still no dice. :(
