Hi,

i build up my computer and this is the specification : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2MNMJ

going to change titan with this card : GTX780TI-DC2OC-3GD5 , http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX780TIDC2OC3GD5/#overview

however, i have something written in pcpartpicker

- Some Intel X79 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Ivy Bridge-E CPUs.
- G.Skill Sniper Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Ivy Bridge-E CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.

about first issue , i check it's updated ! about 2nd issue i have no idea what does it means and how to fix it ?

Solution
Your fine, your JDEC voltages are at 1.5v (you dont have to worry about XMP voltage) and your BIOS is up to date

Nothing to worry about. Because you got it configured at a shop they already took care of everything for you so you don't have to worry about any of "extreme" settings or what not. Relax and enjoy your machine.

Both of those are true. Intel recommends 1.5V Ram modules to be paired with its newer CPUs and you may need a BIOS update, G.Skill Sniper makes the same modules in a lower voltage so just swap them out.

As far as the BIOS: it is easy to do. I am not sure if you will absolutely have to because I have never used that combo of hardware but from what I have heard you will need to.

For the RAM I would go with ADATA RAM. It is really good and you shouldn't have that issue at all. --->http://pcpartpicker.com/part/a-data-memory-ax3u2400w8g11dgv Also you won't need more than 8GB of RAM for just games.

If is sporting that much RAM you can be pretty sure he is doing something other gaming like media editing, which in that case he would need it

The other heads up would be that there is no video card in his build

i already build mine -,-" i check the BIOS it is update :D

but the ram thing i don't understand it .. and i can't swap it :) ... but what does it means ?

If you have no issues it is not necessary to update your BIOS

So this is taken off the Intel Website: Intel recommends using memory that adheres to the Jedec memory specification for DDR3 memory which is 1.5 volts, plus or minus 5%. Anything more than this voltage can damage the processor or significantly reduce the processor life span.

It is is not that big of a deal, you just need to undervolt your RAM in the BIOS

yes i'm using gaming pretty extreme .. and planing on recording and editing and maybe video edit since i like this stuff but noob in it ..

but my card is titan and i will change it to 780ti :)

but how to fix ram problem other than swap it ?

First get boot up CPUz to determine what your RAM stock voltages are running at, and if they are at 1.65V, under-volt them to 1.5v in the system BIOS

I say first check the voltages through CPUZ because some boards automatically down volt the RAM

Edit: it is also possible that if your BIOS needs to be updated than an update may solve the issue for you as well

I have CPUZ from ROG but where i can find RAM stock voltages ?

but i think and i believe it's update it someone told me check version etc and it was same as what he said , how do i know if i need update ? + how to do update if i need ?

i remember the one who assmbled it put it Auto MHZ so i think voltage is less than 1.5 , so in future i'll have to change my ram or what -,-" it will be waste of 300$

btw in my oc panel when i put extreme it says input voltage ?! is it because of this ? or there must be some wires to use and put it in the device to turn it to extreme mode ?

The voltages of your RAM will be on the bottom of the memory/SPD tab,,,,http://www.cpuid.com/medias/images/en/softwares-cpuz-05.jpg

You need to determine the current version of your BIOS, that can also be done in CPUz under board

MHZ and voltage are two different things

I am not sure of your last question as I have never worked with that board but I am willing to bet it CPU related, it is best not to touch the BIOS until you are 100% sure of the issue. First thing is to just see what your voltages are through CPUZ

about the voltage it is : http://www.imageupload.co.uk/images/2014/02/04/Untitled.jpg

what is the matter if it's above 1.575 ??? and how to reduce it ? and by reducing it what happen in term of performance ??

my BIOS is brand: american mega trends inc , date : 23/10/2013 , version : 0403

my last question was about OC Panel that come with Rampage 4 black edition , the shop put it inside , so when i put Extreme mode , it shows "Input voltage" so i asked if this because of voltage problem or extreme mode need some plug in .. etc ? what i mean does extreme mode problem because it is different setup from normal mode or this voltage is causing the problem , here the web:http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_IV_BLACK_EDITION/

so voltage wont increase ?? u've been a lot of help thanks .. i'll enjoy it :D bought 28/1/2014 with titan and the shop was kind enough to let me swap titan with 780ti and i picked 780ti oc asus .. coming in the way , and about OC panel for motherboard i discover to put in extreme mode it need different setup which i don't want to risk it :D

thanks mate wish u all the best (F)

No problem, it is a great set-up and you don't have to worry about your voltages increasing. The 1.65V Intel warning is only related to the JDEC profile, the only way it would go up is if you forced it to do so.

That board has a lot of great options, one of the best for OCIng.

Cheers

nice to know that , i'm noob in computer stuff but love it and graduated from uni , in future will ask about over-clocking CPU and stuff, thanks and cheers to you 2
