I would like to maintain the high level of performance of the computer and still be able to run games like battlefield smoothly on a decent fps. I want to keep the same processor and graphics card unless there is no other option. Is there anyway i could cut the price of the rig in the link below down to around £500 and still keep the decent performance? Thanks

I can get you a little closer to the mark. This is as far as I'd take it at £618.05:

If you start compromising more, you'll have a multi-media PC that can play some games. Or you'll have to go lower res than 1080p.

hi,
i would recomend going for an i5 4430, stock cooler, get an 1600mhz ram same price but better perfomance, cheaper tower and cheaper motherboard and an corsair cx430 would be more then enoughf, and finaly an hd7870/r9-270x for the graphic.
that sould save you 200-250 £
in the future you may upgrade you processor if you feel like you need it.

How come there be no compromise on performance when you are ready to compromise on CPU and GPU! Both are the main contributors/major players when it comes to the gaming even at decent fps. Specs by ubercake are good enough given your budget condition or better go for AMD then.

Exactly. I do think a 7870 would be ok since it's AMD's version of something close to a 760, but I would stick to the 4670K on the CPU though.
