I have a Sony dav-hdx285 home theater system and a Sony Kdl46ex tv ran with an auxiliary chord to connect the two and my PS3 is ran through HDMI to my tv when i play my PS3 I have a lag from when i wreck to when the sound is output from the speakers can anyone help me figure out whats wrong? I dont have the center speaker for the home theater system or I would just hook it up through hdmi or optical

Solution
I would hook it up through optical, you may also able to adjust the audio sync on the receiver.

If you can hook up the PSI through optical or HDMI to the receiver then play a blu ray movie. See if the sound is synced correctly to the actors lips when they speak.

If not see if your reciever has an place to adjust the audio sync time if it does adjust till everything matches then put a game in and see if its synced up too.
