Hello, I recently added a lot of parts to my build (replaced mobo, cpu, case) and now it is not starting. It will being to load windows (7) but after a second the animation will freeze and the BSOD will flash for a millisecond. Then, the computer will boot the screen that allows you to check for errors or boot normally.

I have cleared CMOS, checked BIOS settings, removed RAM and replaced them one by one, tried booting in safe mode. checked memory, ran CHKDSK, etc.

I have a feeling it is the hard drive that is causing the problem, it is plugged in correctly but looking around different forums leads me to think it is that.

Can anyone help me?

Since you replaced the motherboard with a new model the sata controller may have come set to AHCI or when you set up your old computer you had set the sata controller to AHCI and the new motherboard is set to IDE. Either way you need to go into the bios and in the storage options you need to change the sata controller to the other option ( not raid). f it's on IDE then change it to AHCI , if it's on AHCI then change it to IDE.

Thank you for answering!
I have already tried this multiple times. still the same boot sequence every time though. i also tried boot with ROM or something similar to that (changed setting in SATA configuration).

When you have a functioning computer with all the drivers loaded and you change Motherboards and CPU the best thing is to reload the OS so you can load all the drivers for the new Motherboard. If the change of Motherboards was a change of brands then you will have to find a way to load the drivers to the hard drive so when it boots into Windows it will see the drivers. The other issue is the new CPU , so you have two majors things that are causing issues.

Can you list what you had before for components ? You only changed the Motherboard and CPU correct? The case doesn't matter.

For some reason my reply didnt go through (it was from mobile) but oh well, I had a friend lend me his windows 7 boot cd, we cleared my hard drive and reinstalled the OS. I can now access windows but now my problem is with trying to get the drivers for my wireless adapter.
