I just got my new vga, a gigabyte R9 270x 4GB OC to replace my Asus eah6850.
The monitor does not seem to receive any output from de vga because it will just go standby. When i put in the 6850 works, so i downloaded the latest amd catalyst and bios, but still the same.
Any ideas???

btw My rig:
MSI 990FXA GD65
AMD FX6100
16GB DDR3 1600 CORSAIR VENGEANCE (4x4gb)
650w modular PSU
Gigabyte R9 270x OC 4GB
win7 x64

i think it may be some kind of pcie 3.0 - 2.0 compatibility issue but idk

No it isn't a compatibility issue, PCIE 3.0 is backwards compatible.

i readed several threads here with people having trouble booting pcie 3.0 cards in older mobos thats why i suggested that as a possible cause

I understand, catalyst is just a performance program is it not?

What model is your PSU? Do you have both 6-pin power connectors plugged in to the new card? Are you using adapters, or does your PSU have the correct power connectors without adapters?

Your PSU should be able to power the GPU. I'm not a fan of using adapters, but it looks like your GPU should have come with a dual 4-pin molex to 6-pin connector. I would try using that adapter in addition to the single 6-pin connector straight from the PSU.

SOLVED
I uninstalled-reinstalled amd catalyst again and flashed the mobo BIOS again, and i dont know exactly why but now works, the psu seems to work fine with the same cable that used to power my old 6850. im goin to see the BIOS settings now maybe there is something changed with the latest update that make it work, ill let you know if i see something helpful

Thanks for the help
