I built my first computer today and first of all it powered on but wouldn't display on a screen, I tried to fix that and now it won't power on at all. The green lights on the gpu and mobo are on but when I press the power button it doesn't do anything.

Like bignastyid said, I would probably double check your cable connections. Also, if you did everything correctly, you might have to start trouble shooting for DOA parts. I would start by setting up the system out side of the case in an antistatic place and follow some steps online for finding the problem

If you don't know what your doing, I would just let him take a look at it. If it was a cable disconnected, I would say you could do it yourself, but if it is a DOA part, let the tech look at it.

I have some knowledge of computers but also a short temper. I guess it's just better to leave it to him. I've taken it apart and rebuilt it a few times and nothing changed. The motherboard must be getting power but is 550w enough for my components? I'll let everybody know what the technician says

I just can't think what the problem is. At first, the psu, case fans, gpu fans and heatsink were all working and now there's just two green lights and the power button does nothing

Could of broken the power button... I had computer that did that and tested by getting a screw driver and holding it onto the power + and - buttons... refer to your motherboard manual to find out which ones these are or most motherboards have pwr written on it... If it doesn't work that rules out another issue...
