so, I am building my first PC and I decided to buy asus crosshair v motherboard because I want to overclock my CPU even to a 5ghz level and this is best suited mobo for this job. My cooler will be Phanteks ph-tc14pe. I prefer air over water cooling and I have seen some builds where people could reach 5ghz with this cooler. The question is: Which RAM frequency should I use? I don't know anything about this. I've planned to buy a Crucial Ballistix 1600mhz 8gb (2x4gb) kit and maybe in future buy another one to run quad channel, but I'm not so sure. Please tell me if RAM frequency have anything to do with OCing and if Crucial kit will help me reach 5ghz :)

thank you for your answer :) i will pick that g.skill ram for sure but still I have few questions to ask you before I close this 'thread':
- like I said, I will use 2 sticks of 4gb each, not 4 like you used in your build, will it change something in CPU overclocking capabilities?
- what fans are you using with your pahtneks cooler? 2/3 and stock or aftermarket ?
