1st of all: I love this site $-) lol.
2ndly: I'm going to be building my first custom PC, and looking for a few tech tips, opinions, and suggestions. I've been doing research for about 4-5 months now, but I have a few questions I can't find a decent answer to.
Objectives: This rig's primary function up front will be to run DAWs (Pro Tools 11, Reason 6, etc) smoothly. I want to work(record and edit) in moderately large sessions(Like 20 tracks plus plug-ins) with ZERO choppiness. Also, some lightweight video editing and Photoshopping. Down the road I want to get into some heavier video projects and animation. So later I'll mostly likely upgrade to 2, or 3, more powerful GPUs coupled with SLI (any suggestions in this area would be greatly appreciated).
And now, for everyone's favorite part.
THE SPECS:
BUDGET - $2,000.00-$2,500.00 USD
CPU - Intel Core i7-4930K Six-Core Ivy Bridge-E 3.4GHz
MOBO - ASUS X79 Deluxe LGA 2011
MEMORY - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB(4 x 8GB) DDR3-1600
SSD - SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series 256GB
HDD - WD Green 2TB
GPU - NVIDIA/MSI Gaming N770 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 770 2GB 256-bit GDDR5
+ Free Assassin's Creed 4(probably doesn't matter but just saying. YAY!)
PSU - SeaSonic SS-750KM3 750W Full Modular 80 PLUS GOLD
CASE - Corsair Obsidian 750D
Questions and Concerns:
1. Will this setup help me obtain the, "Objectives", above?
2. It needs to be as silent as possible. Can I count on this PSU to stay quite? Will an
overpowered PSU really be worth the extra $80-$150 bucks? Also, what are some quite LED
fans I can buy?
3. What are some ways to sound proof my case?
4. I will have a custom water loop. Will the, EK-FC780 GTX Ti, fit onto the, GTX770 GPU?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
