Ok so this is completely ridiculous and has me baffled. Now I'm not going to claim to be an expert at building water cooling loops but I have done it before without any problems. I've been lazy the past few years and just did closed loop builds, but now I wanted to integrate my gtx 680's in the mix later and so I decided to do my own custom loop with just the basics. So I picked out all my parts which are the following:

(All koolance parts)
CPU Water Block: 380i
Radiator: dual 120mm thick 30fpi
Res: TNK-501 bay Res
Pump: PMP-500
Tubing: 5/8OD x 1/2ID and all compression fittings

Alright so looking at the specs I thought that this would completely annihilate heat. But as it turns out it does not. I actually filled the resevoir once powered it on for a few seconds then filled it again and then turned it on again and checked the temps while I waited for the air to bleed so I could fill it more. While that was happening the temps were staying at about 27c and 50c with prime95 running.

Well I finished filling up the radiator thinking "man my temperatures are going to rock now that this is filled up", and to my utter dismay I'm now idling at around 34c to 50c and prime95 is putting me up to 92c. Just a quick note the ambient room temperature is about 24-26c. I also delid'ed my cpu and changed out the TIM and with the h100i I was using before I had temps around 75c max in prime95.

Here are some pictures of my setup.

I've checked and there's only tiny bubbles in the tubing that I wouldn't think would make a difference and I've gone to such extremes as turning the thing 90 degree in every direction to try and get any trapped air out of it. Also the fans I'm using are high static pressure fans but the radiator nor cpu block are really seeming to heat up so much, the pump is though. So if anyone can tell me what I've done wrong or why my temps are horrible I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Well I drained it and refilled it because I thought maybe there was a bubble in the radiator or several bubbles that I just couldn't see and refilled it again. Again the same thing happened where as I was filling it the temps were great and then the more it filled the worse they got. So I thought well maybe it just doesn't need to be completely filled. So I sucked some of the water out of the reservoir and temps never changed. This led me to believe that there has to be bubbles in the radiator or somewhere. So after picking up the entire computer and rotating it in every direction I found some rather large bubbles. Temps have gone down to idle at 28-30c which is not bad and 70-80 in prime95. Still not as good as I would expect but improving. What I'm seeing happen as it starts though is the pump suck water very hard initially which I believe is pulling the little bit of air out of the reservoir. So I'm going to hit up radio shack today and see if I can find a potentiometer so that I can reduce the voltage initially and then ramp it up as I go if necessary.

Well the final answer was fairly simple. Arctic MX4 (at least the tube I have) is not very good. Every time I replace it temps go back down, but after a few days it tends to stop working and temps go back up. Currently maintaining 75 max on prime95 with 1.35v 4.6ghz OC.
