Connection dropping periodically throughout the day

First thing i did was call comcast and they said there was nothing they could do. connected to my modem and its event log says
Lost MDD Timeout;CM-MAC=**:**:**:**:**:**;CMTS-MAC=**:**:**:**:**:**;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

Is this a problem with my internet provider modem or what?
 
if you havent changed modem settings or internet settings it could very well be your internet provider.we rely on them to be honest but sometimes its just a lack of knowledge on their part.my internet has been doing it and my ip admitted that they had put so many installations on the network that it was saturated.they (shaw canada) are in the process of putting in another server so hopefully it gets better.bottom line,make them make you satisfied.go in armed with ping tests and speedtest results.
