Whoops, total noob on forums. I put my entire description in the title *facepalm*. My problem is that I want to seperate the processes for when I'm gaming so I can run gamed better

I do not think it will effect the performance much.

When you install a game tell it to do a custom or advanced install and you can tell it to install on your other hard drive.

Steam has an option to create more than one game library so you can have it install games on the other drive while steam is installed on the normal drive

OR

You can just install steam on the other drive and copy over the steamapps folder. This is best(easily) done by making a copy of the steam folder on the other drive(call it steam1 or something) then uninstall it from c : install it to you other drive and then copy it over it self(copy all of steam1 to steam) on that folder(this way all your games and settings should be ready to go once you launch steam).

It is ALWAYS best to reinstall programs to move them vs just a straight copy and paste(while that may work with some games, it is not always going to work).

If you want to move a game that is installed and re installation is not an option you can also check this guide out.

do NOT try to move parts of Windows with this guide(un expected things can happen so it is better for you to not try).

You can also move all your personal files over to the other drive if you wish with the location tab in each of the folders properties in the c : \ users \your login/ folder.
