H80i won't go flat on my processor

I recently installed a Corsair H80i on my 4670k and noticed the temps reaching upwards of 70 degrees playing World of Warcraft. Something is obviously wrong since I would top out at 50 on Stock cooling. I brought my computer to class today (computer tech) and took out the H80i. The Thermal Paste (that comes on the H80i) was touching less than half of one side of the processor. We cleaned off the Thermal Paste and applied some new stuff before re-installing the h80i but the temps are still the same.

How can I get it to contact all of the processor/lie flat?

Hello,

You applied another thermal paste on it after cleaning?

When you clean the processor and cooler, you need to use microfiber with isopropyl alcohol and don't touch it when your fingers.

After also verify that the cooler is well placed and in contact with the cpu, did you place it well, and tighten it enough on the CPU?

Regards.

We cleaned with microfiber and isopropyl alchohol. Its in contact and tightened as well as could be done. The placement and contact could be questionable and is what I personally believe to be the problem but I can't seem to fix it. Its a bit of a tight fit in my case (Antec Nine Hundred vSomething, probably 2) and there are only 2 ways I can get it in that will let me even place it onto the processor. Both ways however only seem to have it touching 1 half of the processor with a small gap over the rest of it, even screwing all 4 corners as tightly as we could (not tight enough to damage anything). I have a suspicion that the pipes may be pulling up on it creating the small gap but I can't seem to find a way to fix it..

And to Illumynization I wasn't aware there was a specific way the bracket had to be installed. The plastic bits were in all 4 holes and the double sides screw things are in, though they are all a bit shaky until the actual cooler is installed, even when they are screwed as tightly as possible.

Look at the bracket on the right.

Notice on the top of the outer square portion there is a notch.

Be sure you have it facing the correct way or else it will be touching screws and become unbalanced.

Ah. I just opened up the side of my case and found that it may be upside-down. I'll have to flip it tomorrow as it's late now. Hopefully this fixes my problem. Thanks!

And when you tighten the block down go in a cross pattern meaning for instance if you start at the top right then do the bottom left. Do the same with the other two. Do that until the block is tight. This will prevent one edge from being over tightened than the other.
