Heatsink scratched CPU heat spreader, help!

After using Phanteks ph-tc14pe for a few days, it did this to my i7 4770k (@ 4.5 GHz). How concerned should I be?

Thanks!

    Hi there,

Not at all. Not saying you should do this, but this article may put a single scratch into perspective...

  2. The scratch is near the edge so really, it isn't a big issue at all. this article shows the hotspots on both amd and intel cpus.

your scratch is far away from it so it isn't anything to freak out over. it isn't a good thing but you'll be fine. At the worst, the cpu might run 1 or 2 degrees warmer.

Thank you for the quick reply, I was worried that it might causes damage to my CPU. It was my first time seeing the brownish mark. Initially, I thought it was a burned mark.
