Hello everyone, I really, REALLY need help here, I'm desperate.
first time on TomsHardware, looks like a good place with nice and helpful community.
I've got a VERY SERIOUS problem with my PC - newly bought, everything's brand new, I always get 'AMD Driver stopped responding and has recovered during gaming (Skyrim, BF4, etc).
I've literally replaced ALL the hardware twice now:
1. Gigabyte 280x has been replaced to Sapphire 280x Toxic.
2. Sandisk Pulse SSD - replaced to the same model.
3. Gigabyte Motherboard - B85M-D3H, replaced to the same model.
4. Crucial Ballistix 1600 DDR3, 16 GB - replaced to the same model.
5. Intel Haswell I5 4570 - replaced to the same model.
6. PSU - FSP Raider 650W replaced by CoolerMaster GX 750W.
7. AMD Drivers tested: 13.11, 13.12, 14.1 Beta.

Tried everything possible, reformatting my PC, reinstalling the drivers, with and without Driver Fusion, Windows 7x64 and 8x64 both cause the same crash, Tweaking the voltage, updating the Motherboard BIOS to 3 different versions. It's been 3 months, and I'm afraid now I won't have this solved.

I've been thinking maybe updating the 280 Toxic BIOS but there's only 1 version available. Can I flash the BIOS to a different model? Like Sapphire 280X VaporX?

I've also had a similar problem and I was also seeking help with my MSI Radeon 6950 2gb twin frozr iii oc edition card.
I tried everything and finally thought of getting it replaced so today I went to MSI's service center and gave the card to them, they are most likely going to replace it. I also suggest you to do the same if you've already tried everything. I guess the graphics card is failing. It will work fine but if you're gonna run high end games like crysis 3, LA Noire etc then after 10-20mins it'll give the same problem. Get it replaced if its under warranty or else get a new card.

Typically when it comes to that kind of a situation it tends to lean on your overclocking settings with your graphics card it might be stable at first but generally what happens is you get that specific error that your getting or the game will just quit all togeather. That's generally the only time i get that error.. I hear a lot of people having issues with bf4 crashing but I have had very few times that i could remember it crashing less than 5 sense its been out and most of those were because of overclocking.

For me the simple solution was to keep the display 'windowed'. Everytime I put it to full screen the driver would stop. Do this via the ingame video settings. You can use the mouse to stretch the window out anyway..

The other thing to try is reseating the graphics card. I noticed that mine was not secured in properly but since doing this and staying windowed no issues as yet......

Since I have the same problem and still didn't manage to fix it despite all possible solutions and I own a 280X TOXIC too I would say it's a 280X series problem
