I have built a new computer in the past month and everything was all fine and dandy until last week. When ever i turn on my desktop, the internet just slows down to the point where i can't load webpages on every device connected to the same network. At first i though it was the ISP's problem but they said everything's ok on their end. This is very fustrating as I was very excited to use my new desktop but now i can't do anything with it.

Please Help

Specs: Asus z87-C MoBo
Kingston HyperX 8gb 1600mhz RAM
i5-4440 CPU
300mbps PCI-e wireless adapter (TL-WN881ND)
Windows 7 Home Prem

It seems to be ok after i ran Norton and troubleshooted the network in the Network and sharing menu on my laptop.
Norton said that it cleared 2 tracking cookies. would that have been what caused it?

Gonna see what's gonna happen tomorrow. Will keep updated.

Ok, after a while, the internet speed in my Laptop is still the same (getting <4mps in speedtest) while my desktop is just getting slower and slower (3>mps)

Anyone else know what i can do?

Now the internet runs smoothly even with my desktop turned on my but it's still slow on my desktop. I'm convinced it's the Adapter's problem now.

Any suggestions to what else might've caused it or what adapter i should get?

I've used Asus ones all my life, so I'd really not be able to tell you about others, but thay did have some pretty decent adapters ...... never had a problem with them, while I did come across a lot of other adapters which I had to look into which really left me quiet puzzled as to why these problems.
But check out a few Asus ones if they are available down your side.

I bought the Asus N53 a week ago and everything worked fine. But the problem suddenly came back again. I thought it was a virus so i scanned my computer but it was clean. Would it be the modem's problem?

There doesnt seem to be any problems with the PC power settings but I can't seen to find the wifi card power settings.
Now it just says no internet access on my desktop but all other computers are fine.
