Hello,

Ok so i'm having problems with my build. Whenever i try to shut it down i see the windows loader spin briefly before the monitor then goes blank and recieves no more signal. However the computer doesn't actually shut down, it just stays on until i am forced to hold the power button or cut the power.
When i then turn the computer back on it runs fine and then shutting down following this seems to proceed with no problems. But the problem does occur most days.

In the event logger i can see that each time this happens there is a critial error kernal-power 41, but this may be due to me forcing shutdown rather than the actual issue here?

Does anybody have any ideas why this is happening?

My setup:

i5 4670
Asus z87 mobo
Kingston KC300 SSD
Windows 8.1 Pro
500GB Seagate HDD
2 x 2GB 1333 Samsung ddr3
Nvidia GT 440
Corsair 650M gold PSU

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Max

Solution
I had this problem. Event 41 would happen after proper shutdown procedure. I turned off fast start and did a clean install which fixed it (not sure if both together did it out just the one)

Thanks for your reply. I have checked this and it is set to shut down. Half the time it does shut down OK. Its just the other half I experience the issue mentioned above.

I have been having the same problem on my pc, which is nearly two weeks old. I also have an asus motherboard...G10. intel i7, gtx 760, win 8. However my problem occurs after shutting it down properly. I tried disabling the kernel-debugging network adapter...and I didn't see the error for 4 consecutive shut downs...however it did return. You could try it, idk if it is even related. The kernel debugging network adapter is for remotely connecting, I left it disabled
