Hi everybody. About one year ago I purchased a laptop (fragbook) from DevilTech (and unfortunately I'm regretting it). Anyway, a bit more than one month ago the laptop died while playing a video and never turned on again (not even the BIOS was loading). So I sent it back to DevilTech as it was still covered by warranty, but it is not going so well.
They say they have issues with the graphic card supplier, which MAYBE will send them the cards in 3 weeks (and it's already been 5 weeks so far, when they told me at the beginning that the maximum repair time would have been 3 weeks).
So I asked them if they can just put another graphic card but they told me that it is not possible as that one is the only one compatible.
Also I had to call them in Germany through a friend of mine who speaks German to have all these informations, because they almost never answer to my emails (and when they do they do it with vague, short and bad written answers).
So, because I don't trust much what they say I would like to know from you if this thing that it is not possible to mount another graphic card is true or not.

At the moment in their site when you configure your laptop the graphic cards available for the fragbook are the following:

- NVidia GeForce GTX 770M mit 3,0 GB GDDR5 und Optimus
- NVidia GeForce GTX 780M mit 4,0 GB GDDR5 und Optimus

If someone has some experience, I would also like to know what are my rights in the situation (such as extend of warranty or similar).

They probably could install a different GPU but are not allowed to.
The company probably has a strict Policy on their replacements.
Now, I know that waiting 5 weeks can be really bothering.

Personally when I sent my Laptop I had it under 1 week.
It was luck. I was lucky that they had everything they needed right there.
Dont despair. The good thing is its still under warranty.
In the future, I suggest you replace the thermal paste for something good every 6-9 months to at least lower the odds of failure by overheating (this is assuming you are tech savy).
Most Laptop brands will post a warranty void sticker on their Laptops, so its good to consult with the seller if that voids the warranty (In most cases it wont. Usually warranty voids only if you Change hardware like CPU, GPU... or is you actually damage something).

So to answer your question, even if it is compatible, they are not allowed to put another GPU in your laptop. And i mean not allowed because it goes against laws/contracts signed by them.
