Hi there, I am hoping you guys can help me with this as I am completely baffled by my problem. (I have searched Google and have found no solutions, or even reported problems for my error). I recently got the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset and have been extremely happy with them up until yesterday when they suddenly stopped working. I used them yesterday morning just fine, shut down my pc and went to gym and when I came back that afternoon and turned my pc on they wouldn't work. Now the strange thing is when I use Team Speak or Razer Comms, the people I am chatting with can hear me speak with no issue (In other words the mic works) but I have absolutely 0 sound. And not just in TS or Razer comms but also no windows sound whatsoever.
To clarify the problem:
When I open the playback devices for windows the two controllers, VIA High Definition Audio and Razer Surround Audio Controller, are both there. When I make the Razer controller the default it shows it is transmitting sound for lack of better wording (the bar jumps up and down according to whatever I have making sound) but in my headphones I have no sound except for the almost inaudible static. If I switch it to the VIA controller then it works fine, but obviously it then isn't 7.1.
I’ve gotten it to work using Razer Comms by changing the setting in Razer Comms to use the Razer audio controller (at which point it still would not work), then I would make the VIA controller the default device, as well as default communication device, and then immediately switch the default back to the Razer controller and click apply/okay at which point it would work. The only problem is that as soons as I quit razer comms, or even leave the group voice chat then it stops working again. (I have a sneaky suspicion that this error is arising due to razer comms but I have no evidence to back it up).
I have uninstalled Razer synapse and Razer Comms and then tried only installing Razer surround but it would not install, gets stuck on 76%. After that I tried installing synapse first, updating it and then installing Razer surround but this did not work either.
Lastly I should mention that the first time I “found out” there was no sound was when I opened TS and I could not hear them but they could hear me.
I would appreciate ANY help as I have tried everything within my knowledge to fix this to no avail.
