Hi, I want to upgrade my Macbook pro with a new SSD. I have already put a 120gb samsung ssd init but I plan to swap it with a larger one. I then want to put the 120gb one in a windows machine.

is it possible to re format the ssd ( samsung evo ) already formatted with mac osx journaled so I can install windows on ?
if so is it as easy as plugging it in a then formatting it while doing the OS install?

Thanks on advance.

If Disk Management don't allow to delete the drive. Just use diskpart:
strg+r
diskpart
select disk x (x = number of the device in disk management)
clean
Now you can create a new partition in disk management.

If you have a running Windows machine that you can install the SSD in, I would do that and run Samsung's Magician software with Secure Erase. This will return the drive to fresh from the factory status.

I don't know if Magician runs on Macs but that is another possibility.

Good luck!
