Hello, I need your suggestions as I'm going to be cleaning my PC but I don't have any Isorpopyl alchohol instead I have an Aftershave which contains 65% of Ethyl Alchohol is that suitable for cleaning my CPU and Cooler?

Why waste it cleaning a CPU? Besides, it is not a good idea to use bottled drinking alcohol they will leave deposits.

There is a cleaning product available at Arctic Silver: http://www.arcticsilver.com/# (ArctiClean).

I use 70% Isopropyl alcohol available at Walmart for less than $2 for 12 ounces.

no, it needs to be 100%, please buy isopropyl alcohol, anything else will most likely leave you with a dead CPU or motherboard. Although i have heard nail varnish remover works, but i wouldnt take the chance as these components are expensive

Everclear or moonshine yes, but normal liquors should not as they will leave a residue behind due to the impurities in them, especially darker or flavored ones, so spiced rum is a definite no.

Whats the problem with so many people recently not being able to get isopropyl alcohol? Its just rubbing alcohol that you can get at any grocery store or drug store, hell the 7-11 across the street sells it, you are like the 6th person i have seen in the last couple weeks looking for an alternative.

LOL that would be a waste, the thing that im worried about in liquors and an aftershave they contain other liquids inside.
I use ethyl alcohol 70% all the time, it works fine just
