I'm wanting to put a AFOX HD 6850 low profile GPU in and need a stronger PSU. I have read that my motherboard may get "fried" by an aftermarket PSU possibly but none say why, could someone explain why this is. I would just love to get this card in here but need some info from you guys on what my options can be, before messing anything up. Thanks

Dell used to use custom PSUs with non-standard pinouts on the connectors for their motherboard. Just double check that the wire colors match what is shown here on the 20/24 pin main connector, and that your CPU takes a 4 pin or 8 pin and not something weird. I think they moved to normal PSUs a while ago, but it is always best to double check.

If the wire colors are all the same then you will be fine with any normal PSU.

If you have DT form factor, not Mini Tower, unfortunately your PSU is proprietary by physical dimensions, and therefore is not upgradable, even though it is looks like TFX power supply. Also, I doubt that you can fit this AFOX in your box, AFOX is very long card.

Anything else I can help you with?

Ufortunately not, TFX is longer and it is used for Dell Inspiron Slim models until Inspiron 660 slim, which is proprietary again.
