I've been using Adobe after Effects, Photoshop, and Sony Vegas a lot lately. I only have 8GB of some 1600mhz ram (not even sure the brand). I was wondering if it would be better to get more ram or faster ram for rendering the videos and special effects. When I use After Effects, it takes a long time to render (I figured it was due to the particle usage). But at the same time, it takes a long time to render it all. I want to make it above 1080p in the future.
My current Specs are:
Processor: i7 4770k
MOBO: Gigabyte UD4H
Graphics: GTX 770 SC
120GB kingston SSD (for Boot drive, planning to get larger ssd's in raid 0)
1TB Toshiba hdd
8GB 1600mhz RAM
So, more ram or faster ram? I want to have the option to play games or something while rendering, as the rig is mainly for gaming. I do a lot of multi tasking but I've never really examined a machine with more ram or faster ram for what I do, so I wouldn't know the difference.
Thanks
