RAM changing timings

Earlier today I moved the RAM chip from channel B to channel A. I had put it in the wrong slot when I built the rig, and figured that it makes more sense to have it in the A-1 slot(as I have a single 8GB chip). I booted up and somehow expected an increase in performance, but alas, the timings had changed from 4-5-4-(something) to 11-11-11-30. Does anyone have an idea why this happens? And will I be better off continuing to have the RAM in channel B?

RAM: Kingston DDR3-1600/PC3-12800 8GB
Mobo: Gigabyte 970A-UD3P

The reason I am asking is that I am failing Prime95 blend, and I am sure it's not my CPU. I have read that loosening the timings on the RAM might solve the problem, but I don't know what the next "step" is after 11-11-11-30. Does anyone know about some "good" timings I can use?(Hopefully with minimal performance loss)

Ok, I'll try adding some voltage to the DRAM if you think that'll help stability, even though I haven't OC'd the RAM itself (only OC'd CPU and NB)

In the gigabyte BIOS there isn't anything called CPU/NB, but I am assuming "NB core" is the equivalent? I that case, it is 1.2V stock. Should I try bumping it to 1.25-1.3?

Still error with dram 1.55 and cpu/nb 1.3, even upped the voltage on cpu a bit just to be sure. Is there anything else that affects RAM stability with OC'd CPU?
