I am looking to build a new rig with the following spect

-Intel Core i5 4670 @3.4GHz
-Asus b85m-g
-Shappire r9 270x Dual X
-Kingston D3 1600Mhz 8gb ram x1
-Crossair Force LS 120GB
- CM GXII 550 or 650 PSU
-Decent casing with good cable management
-1x 1TB samsung HDD

Did i choose the correct PSU for my GPU and CPU? i worry that GPU is underpowered like my old rig which caused my GPU to have some error in around 2 years.

Others recommendations are also welcomed

No, the CM "GX" series was not good: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/11/22/cooler_master_gx_650w_power_supply_review/9 , and based on reputation, I would expect the GXII to be no better. Their Seasonic-built V-series is good, but an actual Seasonic or XFX (made by Seasonic) or a Rosewill Capstone (made by Superflower) will be as good but cheaper. You'll be fine with 550W.
Otherwise, get dual-channel RAM; 2x4GB (8 total) will be sufficient. Single-channel is slower than dual channel. It's not horrific, but I think you'd notice.
