just through a 9600gt in my rig and it plays pretty much every game decent even battlefield 4! so why do people say its bad?

Solution
As with all graphics cards a measure of its worth generally comes down to two things. Frames per second on the current generation of games and Direct X support. The 9600 GT won't support DX11 for example so you'll be missing out on some eye candy in BF4.

Because it doesn't play it on extreme above 30 fps.
I think that if it runs at a decent FPS no matter what options are selected that it is fine.

Its not that it's "bad", it's just that it is becoming outdated. Depending on your resolution, the card may still perform up to your standards. But the card is becoming less powerful at resolutions like 1080p and above. Plus, with newer games releasing and using more VRAM the 1GB is also becoming less useful.

i had it set to medium settings, 1280x1024 with about 20-50 fps 20 being the lowest
