Hey guys, do you think the $200 price difference between the gtx 780 hydrocopper dual classified ($699) and the gtx 780 TI hydrocopper dual classified ($899) is reason enough to go with the gtx 780 despite the 12-30 fps increase in the gtx 780ti?

I've been waiting 3 months for EVGA to release this version of the gtx 780ti but the 200 dollar difference is making me rethink a bit.

Thanks fellas

I'm definitely liquid cooling, I've already chosen all the parts needed and am more than ready to water cool. I'm going with the 780ti hydrocopper or the 780 hydrocopper, I'm just unsure which is worth it.

For 700 bucks, the gtx 780 hc classified is tempting, but I'm afraid it might not hold up until I decide to replace it (4-5 years), it would also make waiting 3 months or so for the gtx 780ti hc release a complete waste of time. 200 bucks is 200 bucks, but 12-20 frames can make a difference, especially on 120hz monitor gaming.

I'm looking for some opinions since I might be either overlooking a benefit of the newer technology or blinded by the overall great reviews of the 780ti.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

So the bottom line is that $200 dollars isn't worth the 15-30 fps increase I'm gonna get even when using a 120hz monitor? I'm comparing the cards without over clocking in mind. Thanks bud.

I'm not sure where you're getting a 15-30 fps increase from. The bottom line is that it's your money. If you can afford the 780Ti and not regret spending the money then by all means get it. It's going to perform better for you but if you would like to make the economical choice and save as much as possible then go with the 780. Whichever is most important to you is up to you, cost or performance. :)

The 780Ti review on toms includes benchmarks showing around a 10-15 fps increase in games, and if you consider the specs for the dual classified card, it's fine to assume there will be at least an additional 5 fps (10 for some games) increase from the stock version that was tested. The build is coming out to be around $3000, $2800 if I decide to go with the gtx 780 card.

It's very hard for me to decide whether the performance is worth the cost honestly haha. I want to go with one graphics card that will give me all the power I need for gaming at 144hz at 1080p (possibly 1440p) for a long time, but 200 bucks sure can make a difference..

Thanks again man.
