Hi,

I am building a PC for everyday usage with a small budget. I will be using the system mainly to watch HD movies, web browsing & office work. I have pretty much configured my system but stuck with 2 questions which is critical for me from budget perspective.

1. Intel i3 3220 vs. Pentium G2020 - I want to know if Pentium G2020 is enough for my usage or should I stick with i3? I won't upgrade for next 3-5 years. There is a significant difference in price (almost 4k).
2. Branded PSU vs. Built in PSU - Should I get a branded power supply or the built in PSU in the cabinet is sufficient. I am looking at Zebronics, iball or circle cabinets. Not sure how good the power supply will be in those cabinets?

Below is my configuration:
Intel i3 3220
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H
Corsair Vengeance 4 GB RAM
OR
G.Skill RipjawsX 4 GB RAM
Western Digital Blue Caviar 1 Tb HDD
LG DVD Writer
APC 600VA UPS
Corsair CX430 PSU

Please i need expert's suggestions for my 2 questions. Also any suggestions for better hardware option is welcomed.

The Pentium G2020 is enough, maybe you can get a better version of the Pentium G series for little extra money. 4GB RAM is enough for your needs if you dont render or use similar programs, both RAMs are good, choose the one with lower steppings and price. Inbuild PSUs are not that good, better buy a branded. Can you give the website where you purchase? You will use the inbuild GPU or? What is this APC 600VA UPS?

I'm guessing by cabinet you mean case lol. Never use a PSU that comes with a case, they are generally useless and will probably fry your PC so buy a seperate PSU from the case such as XFX, SeaSonic branded etc. Build looks fine although you would be better going with an AMD FX-6300 which is roughly the same price but performs better. This will mean having to change your motherboard. Just check that your memory is dual channeled and also you may want to consider putting in a low end video card such as a HD 6450 for use of a HDMI output or in case you ever want to play some low-end games in the future.

Gotcha. I would take the build from above and maybe upgrade to an i3-4130 instead of the Pentium. The i3 will give you better performance

- Generally I will do online shopping from Flipkart which is quite a reputed online store in india. But for my build I will be walking to the local retail stores.

- Yes by cabinet I meant case.. I intended to go for Corsair psu but couple of my friends suggested built in power supply is sufficient for my built.

I did consider AMD processor as AMD built is always vfm. However im little worried about heating issues. I often hear that AMD is not too well suited for Indian conditions. Otherwise fx6300 is definitely bang for the buck
