What the heck is using almost 8GB of RAM on my PC?

I have 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, and I'm always sitting at about 50% usage. It's really annoying.

Here is a screenshot of my taskmanager: http://imgur.com/47Pgake

I have ran MalwareBytes, nothing came up. It's really weird and concerning.

Thanks in advance!

you have a whole slew of processes running there and they all take memory. there are a few things you can do.one is to go to search and type in msconfig then go to startup and see what programs are running on startup. uncheck the ones you dont need to start with windows. next, and this is a little more complicated, you can go to control panel>administrative tools>services.here you can change the status of services and in some cases disable unneeded ones. here is one of the best tutorials ive seen.ive used it and it certainly made my old machine run better.

Windows 7 x64 alone will use 1.2-17GB of RAM. You seem to have every program/application running in the background. Why have Steam and Origin open at same time? Nearly a dozen Chrome processes running.

What video card and how many do you have?
What other hardware installed?

Your screenshot isn't one of the most optimum situation. It looks like you tried to open as much stuff as you could before the screeny.

I literally just opened the taskmanager and took a screenie. Also, I have no freaking clue what's up with the chrome processes, it's really weird.

I have Steam and Origin running because I have games on both, and Origin doesn't let me play BF3 if it isn't running.
My GPU is an nVidia GTX 770 SuperClocked, and my processor is an i5 2500k. I've got 3 HDDs, each of them 500GB, and that's basically it.

Uh.. I only have like 3 startup processes that aren't Windows. That's Steam, Origin, and Skype.

Also, when you close a Steam game or Origin Game, click your taskbar up-arrow and Exit/Close the background Steam/Origin process also. These will start again automatically when you launch a game anyway but they do not need to be running all the time.
