my emails have disappeared. How do I get them back?

What did you do to fix the iTunes issue? If the email disappeared right after that, you have a clue as to what you may need to do.
You can also try just signing on to your email account using the web client, if you did not set your local mail client to delete the files off the server after downloading them, they will all be there.
